Three Pittsburgh hospitals willing to accept injured Haitians

Gov. Ed Rendell’s office lined up 11 hospitals, including three in Western Pennsylvania, to treat seriously injured Haitians if they are brought to the United States.

The hospitals would offer support to Haitian patients regardless of federal reimbursement, Rendell said in his letter. If necessary, the state Health Department would coordinate medical assessments at airports and transportation to hospitals.
